Patterson Legal Group Joins Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Patterson Legal Group Employee participantes in Walk to End Alzheimers

Leanne, a Litigation Case Coordinator at Patterson Legal Group, will participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 14 in downtown Wichita. This walk is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness for Alzheimer care, support and research.

Leanne will not only be participating, but taking along donations thanks to her co-workers. Employees made donations for being able to wear jeans for a day. Patterson Legal Group will also be matching the donated funds.

While Leanne has actively participated in events through Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Butler County, this will be her first year walking for Walk to End Alzheimer’s and she will proudly do so as Alzheimer’s has affected her personally.

“My grandma Mattie was a very youthful 70 year old who was active in her community and family life. She developed Alzheimer’s over a few short years, which eventually required around the clock care in a facility,” Leanne said.

Mattie eventually forgot who her family was, including her own husband who sadly passed shortly thereafter.

Leanne’s fiance’ Mike works at a senior living community which has a memory care unit for Alzheimer’s patients. Several employees, family members and friends have formed a team, the “Avita Avengers”. The team will wear t-shirts to get in the spirit for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
