PLG Shares the Shocker Love with Wichita Children’s Home

Wichita Children's Home accepted our offer of 2 tickets to tonight's #PlayAngry #watchus game.Attorney Gary Patterson is not only a HUGE Shocker fan, but he also puts his money where his mouth is by sponsoring the team in a variety of ways, including half-time reports and on Kansas 22. Throughout the season, Patterson Legal Group has shared the Shocker love by giving away 23 tickets on their Facebook page which were earned as corporate sponsors.

Most recently, Patterson Legal Group gave away six BEHIND THE BENCH tickets to the Feb. 11 game against SIU at Charles Koch Arena. Two sets of tickets were given through Facebook entry, two via text-message entry, and two were given as a random act of kindness to the Wichita Children’s Home.

“I was so excited to have the opportunity to share the Shockers undefeated season with one of our youth!” said Teresa Buchanan of the Wichita Children’s Home. “Francisco (age 18) had never attended any basketball game in his life and wondered why I selected him. I explained that because he is new to our city and will soon graduate from high school, I wanted him to have the opportunity to be exposed to the collegiate atmosphere. He was amazed about how tough the players played the game and overwhelmed by the fan support of the Shockers. He may want to be a Shocker!”

Not only did Patterson Legal Group help create a magical moment for one deserving youth from the Wichita Children’s Home, but also Gary Patterson personally gave the young man a new Shocker sweatshirt to wear. We’re sure Shocker Coach Gregg Marshall would approve of Patterson Legal Group reaching out to this particular charity. After all, he’s involved in a very important competition off the court–the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge. Hosted by ESPN.com, this rivalry pits coach against coach in a voting match, the winner taking home $100,000 for their favorite charity. And Coach Marshall’s charity of choice? You guessed it. The Wichita Children’s Home. Learn more about the competition here, and make sure you Vote Angry before round two ends Feb. 16!
